00:26 Cobur 00:26 * Coburn tips his hat
00:26 Coburn morning
00:53 mk01_ haha. good night sleep.
00:53 mk01_ bye
02:01 diabl0z hello
02:02 diabl0z i need some help
02:26 Coburn diabl0z: hello there. what help do you need?
02:37 diabl0z ehy Coburn
02:38 diabl0z i've just solved by myself. I got a bricked cubox v2 1GB and it stucked at boot in bootstrap>
02:39 diabl0z i cannot fix neither loading back ubox with sx from serial console
02:40 diabl0z every time at reboot it went back on bootstrap>, i solved by flashing uboot from the installer
02:41 Coburn so wait a minute
02:41 Coburn you didn't get the uBoot prompt, you got another Bootstrap> prompt?
02:42 Coburn On mine it says "CuBox LOADER" and then uBoot
02:42 Coburn unless you're using a imx6 based device
02:42 Coburn I'm using a Dove-based CuBox
02:42 diabl0z exactly, i opened a serial console, so I started cubox and after some seconds it prompted bootstrap 3.2>
02:42 diabl0z but now it prompts CuBox> correctly
02:43 diabl0z after that i fleshed uboot from installer
02:43 Coburn wow
02:43 Coburn what model is your cubox? is it the newer type?
02:44 Coburn (look under the bottom, it should have a sticker)
02:44 diabl0z no an old one
02:44 diabl0z cb-300-d
02:44 Coburn ah, right
02:44 Coburn that's the one I've got
02:44 Coburn that's interesting though because I don't have that prompt
02:44 diabl0z there is a list of models with model name ?
02:44 diabl0z it was an error
02:44 Coburn Not sure.
02:45 diabl0z maybe the bootstrap is like a rescue mode
02:45 Coburn if I brick mine, I just get a empty console, where I must use my dexterity to flash a UART uBoot
02:45 Coburn but you say you got a rescue mode, I'm intriuged by this
02:46 diabl0z in my case this solution didn't solved the situation
02:46 Coburn but did it get you back on your feet?
02:47 diabl0z yes, now it works with the precompiled version of debain
02:47 diabl0z debian*
02:48 Coburn nice.
02:48 diabl0z but tomorrow i will try to install a clean wheezy version
02:48 Coburn that's always good to hear
02:48 Coburn yep, wheezy is great on the CuBox
02:48 Coburn I use it myself
02:49 diabl0z yes
02:49 diabl0z sure?
02:49 diabl0z how did you installed it?
02:49 diabl0z netboot ?
02:49 Coburn I manually do my installs.
02:49 diabl0z yes
02:50 Coburn As in, I use another device to "bootstrap" the debian wheezy, then enable a few things in a configuration file (serial console)
02:50 diabl0z ok
02:50 Coburn then I backup the kernel and modules from the old install and then basically wipe, install bootstrap to the uSD and then copy back the kernel and modules
02:51 Coburn Although, I'm using _rmk_ 3.13 tree for the kernel, mainly because I needed GPU and his stuff was the most recent kernel version with the GPU patches
02:51 diabl0z nice
02:52 Coburn I know I might have confused you but yeah, I'm a linux power user :P
02:52 diabl0z i see
02:52 Coburn Thinking I might chuck up a few tarballs of "just download, format your uSD, untar this tarball and go" debians
02:52 diabl0z im trying to understand all
02:53 Coburn debian is a great learning distro
02:53 diabl0z i use debian from some years
02:53 diabl0z i like it
02:54 diabl0z is arrived the moment to start learn how to create a custom version for this cubox
02:54 diabl0z ;)
02:56 diabl0z i have to go, see you soon
10:23 zaher rabeeh: are you there?
10:23 zaher rabeeh: pepedog made nice xbmc packages for Arch
10:24 zaher but then I found out that xbmc craches when you run it on HB with the new SPL/u-boot
10:24 zaher the old u-boot works. I tested also with GeexBox and that same thing happens
10:25 zaher let me know if I can help debug this.
13:46 dv_ rabeeh: ping
13:46 dv_ are the humminboards officially sold now?
13:46 dv_ a colleague of mine is very interested in these
13:47 dv_ especially the ones with wifi/bt and sata
14:06 davorin not yet...
14:07 davorin he's testing v2.0, but there will be 2.1 in the end
14:09 dv_ ah yes, how is 2.0 progressing?
14:09 davorin think he had to manually patch some usb lines on the bottm (o;
14:09 dv_ oh.
14:09 davorin and not sure if 2.1 will officially include sim card holder...that would be terrific...
14:11 davorin and dunno what the pin "usb_otg_id" is doing on the gpio26 header...
14:11 davorin but i think he has msata and mini-pciee working
14:12 davorin and apparently he will announce something in the coming week...
14:12 davorin maybe his birthday (o;
18:03 ACSpike Does anyone have experience gettting lirc up and running on a cubox-i? I'm using arch linux
20:29 ACSpike I'm trying to install lirc on arch linux, but I dont' get a /dev/lirc*
20:29 ACSpike what can I do
23:16 chron0 hmm, rabeeh, what could I be doing wrong when booting your current git kernel/u-boot-imx6 and getting: MAYBE you should read doc/README.arm-unaligned-accesses
23:17 chron0 directly after Verifying Checksum ... OK Loading Kernel Image ... data abort
23:19 chron0 using armv7a-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi crossdev env on gentoo. u-boot and kernel compile went without a noticable hitch though
23:23 _rmk_ chron0: why do you think it's an unaligned access?
23:24 ACSpike I'm trying to install lirc on arch linux, but I dont' get a /dev/lirc*. I read in the forums that cubox-i shoudl work with lirc. what can I do?
23:25 chron0 _rmk_: I can honestly say that I have no clue :)
23:26 chron0 I am just spewing out what u-boot tells me :)
23:28 chron0 ah, I think I see, this could be understood the wrong way like I was telling someone to read that file
23:29 chron0 u-boot fails to boot the kernel and sais: "MAYBE you should read doc/README.arm-unaligned-accesses"
23:29 chron0 directly after Verifying Checksum ... OK Loading Kernel Image ... data abort
23:29 _rmk_ you're using the kernel image rabeeh provides?
23:30 chron0 I've already searched the net and found some other people with the same problem but on different platforms an the solution here to fix it still eludes me
23:30 chron0 yeah, I've cloned both git repos
23:32 chron0 https://apollo.open-resource.org/pad/cubox
23:32 _rmk_ I guess that leads to questions about how you're loading the kernel
23:32 chron0 here's a trace
23:32 chron0 I guess so too
23:35 chron0 I've dded the SPL and uboot.img to the sd card and then put the kernel uImage into the boot partition, loads fine with ext2load mmc 0:1 etc
23:36 chron0 do I need those boot.scr and boot.txt files I've found in some docs? I'm a little confused about the uEnv.txt and those other config files
23:39 _rmk 23:39 * _rmk_ looks for whoever's using IP 99.102.134.95 (adsl-99-102-134-95.dsl.pltn13.sbcglobal.net.)
23:39 _rmk_ if they do that again, they're getting an entry in my firewall...
23:40 _rmk_ chron0: I've never used uEnv.txt so can't help with that
23:41 _rmk_ presumably you used mkimage on that boot.txt to turn it into boot.scr?
23:42 chron0 _rmk_: no actually I have neither of them on the boot partition, since I followed a doc that only dealt with uEnv.txt
23:42 chron0 http://imx.solid-run.com/wiki/index.php?title=Building_the_kernel_and_u-boot_for_the_CuBox-i_and_the_HummingBoard
23:43 _rmk_ ah, okay, so you loaded and tried to boot the kernel using the commands under "Booting the kernel", replacing fatload with ext2load ?
23:50 chron0 yes
23:51 chron0 but same symptoms manually or autobooting, just looping around
23:53 _rmk_ can you copy across to your etherpad exactly what uboot comes out with please?
