00:37 | Hybridvs-Away | ok , geexbox boots and works , version geexbox-devel-20120903-r15039 with the script and procedure from http://www.geexbox.org/geexbox-for-embedded-devices-booting-on-cubox/ |
00:37 | Hybridvs-Away | now , to configure the remote |
01:33 | dbsx | Still trying to get my kaiser-baas bt130 kbd/mouse working on geexbox. I have it working on wheezy/Linux 3.5.4. So does anybody know how to make it work on geexbox? |
01:57 | ralix | morning |
11:23 | hybridvs | hi there. My geexbox al last was able to work , couln't use the remote , but worked with the usb mouse ;) |
11:32 | Kiranos | have not yet setup the remote correctly I guess :P |
11:33 | Kiranos | hybridvs: http://www.solid-run.com/mw/index.php/GeeXboX_on_CuBox |
11:33 | Kiranos | follow the Remote access section |
11:33 | Kiranos | systemctl stop eventlircd.service |
11:33 | Kiranos | systemctl stop xbmc.service |
11:33 | Kiranos | ir-keytable -t |
11:33 | Kiranos | and you should see output when you hit a key on the remote |
11:36 | hybridvs | I did that , as per the page , but a funny thing happened |
11:38 | hybridvs | the keycodes detected were very short (a01 , a02, ..a20 ) , and saw a same brand remote , techisat on the files , and those where very much larger. Anyway , i constructed the file with the codes detected , a01 KEY_1 , and so , put RC5 as codification , the same used by the other techisat remote |
11:39 | hybridvs | then when i recicled to see if eventlirc was decoding the keys , they where detected , but not interpreted , it detected the code a01 , but will not show KEY_1 |
11:39 | hybridvs | Changed to RC6 and no detection was achieved. Tryed with "other" , and nothing |
11:41 | hybridvs | Now , i'm going to copy the sample techisat file and try to tweak it till i get detection |
11:42 | Kiranos | ok sorry cant help you more there, my popcorn remote worked with NEC as it should |
11:45 | hybridvs | mine is techisat model TTS35AI |
12:20 | hybridvs | this is the kind of codes i got from the ir-keytable -t |
12:20 | hybridvs | Testing events. Please, press CTRL-C to abort. |
12:20 | hybridvs | 1354879206.660444: event MSC: scancode = a0c |
12:20 | hybridvs | 1354879206.660451: event sync |
12:21 | hybridvs | that's the power button |
12:21 | hybridvs | looking at the lirc description file for this remote , the code should be Power 0x1A8C |
12:23 | hybridvs | looking into t provided maps for a techisat on the /etc/rc_keymaps for eventlirc , i see |
12:23 | hybridvs | # table technisat_usb2, type: RC5 |
12:23 | hybridvs | 0x0a0c KEY_POWER |
12:25 | Kiranos | but if you create a new and add |
12:25 | Kiranos | 0x1A8C KEY_POWER |
12:25 | Kiranos | and then activate the new config |
12:26 | Kiranos | http://www.solid-run.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1000 |
12:26 | Kiranos | I say there how to activate a new keymap |
12:26 | Kiranos | and do it without reboot |
12:27 | Kiranos | that is I had to redo my entire popcornhour remote config aswell, its not the same as lirc.conf pre created config for my remote |
12:28 | hybridvs | ok , that's about what i was trying , thanks for providing a guide. When i have it working , i'll post the file ... hopefully no one will have to rebuild the remote file thereafter ;) |
12:28 | Kiranos | if you look at http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/syabas/A-100 and my thread its not the same keys |
12:29 | Kiranos | yes that was a big part why I posted my story, to have it backed up if I need to reinstall and for others with my remote |
12:29 | hybridvs | seems mine is not a very popular one. |
12:31 | Kiranos | just do a few keys and then save and active that config |
12:31 | Kiranos | so you can test to see if those keys work |
12:39 | hybridvs | no luck , after editing the file , the scan still fails to associate |
12:39 | hybridvs | 1354880331.392746: event MSC: scancode = a0c |
12:39 | hybridvs | 1354880331.392751: event sync |
12:44 | hybridvs | ok , will try another remote i have lying arround , the axil |
13:09 | hybridvs | now , this is weird |
13:12 | hybridvs | 1354882320.798938: event MSC: scancode = a57 |
13:12 | hybridvs | 1354882320.798945: event key down: KEY_OK (0x0160) |
13:12 | hybridvs | 1354882320.798948: event sync |
13:12 | hybridvs | 1354882321.041867: event key up: KEY_OK (0x0160) |
13:12 | hybridvs | 1354882321.041871: event sync |
13:14 | Kiranos | I thinkt its better you post in the forum with your active config etc |
13:16 | hybridvs | no, i think i have it cornered now , i'll post the file when fully tested , but it seems that , no matter what it says , if the scan code say a0c , you must write it down as 0x0a0c |
13:34 | hybridvs | archive posted in the forum , but there is a little glich. All the keystrokes are being getting caugth twice |
14:51 | hybridvs | If anyone has the repeated keystroke problem and knows how to fix it , I'll happy to read how. |
14:54 | Kiranos | hm I think my remote said it took twice aswell, have you tested the remote in XBMC?= |
14:58 | hybridvs | yes |
14:59 | hybridvs | it's pain in my backside to try to work with XBMC with the remote..all the keystrokes got interpreted twice by XBMC , so navigating the menus is impractical |
18:15 | hybridvs | ok , seems the problem is worse than i througth , as the remote signals don't just get duplicated, but are just weird on the xbmc behaviour. prog+/prog- act as first/last choice , instead of going one on one. vol+/vol- seems to be working fine. Using a combination of the numeric keys i can navigate thru individual menu items. As the keyscan are recognized , i suppose some remapping of the codes |
18:15 | hybridvs | to key are due. Will post to the forum the final config file |
23:14 | Morta | Hello someone online ? |
23:15 | rmull | Many are, ask away |
23:26 | Morta | What experience have you made with the geexbox and 1080p Movies over NFS |
23:26 | Morta | Its working well ? |
23:27 | Morta | On my cubox 720p no Problem but a Remux fucked it up it stock like hell |
