12:37 rabeeh all: anyone familiar with the mipi interfaces?
12:38 rabeeh namely i'm looking for a generic interface to use for camera interface (like MIPI) but can't find any standard phyiscal interface
12:49 frilled rabeeh, http://www.mipi.org/specifications/camera-interface seems to have links to physical specs, too, but I kinda doubt you didn't look there first ;P
12:49 frilled pretty basic, too, I have to admit ^_°
12:50 frilled probably members only
12:51 rabeeh frilled: i'v harvested the net about generic camera module but there is none standard physical interface
12:51 rabeeh the specs are pretty clear; just hook i2c and the differential mipi lines and your good to go; but there is none about a standard connector
12:51 rabeeh oh; the same applies to LVDS display out (or mipi dsi)
12:52 rabeeh well.. for lvds display out there is a 30 pin connector or 40 pin connector that you can buy a laptop display and hook your PFC cable to it
12:52 rabeeh but again, no standard saying pins x and y has the differential lines etc...
12:53 frilled what about the raspi cam, then?
12:57 rabeeh custom made from RS
12:57 rabeeh again, they use the standard interface - MIPI CSI with i2c to control the camera; but no standard phyisal interface
12:57 rabeeh pretty frustrating...
13:02 frilled i see :(
13:10 frilled I still don't get it. raspi uses CSI-2 on D-PHY (which is now succeded by M-PHY), so that sounds pretty standard to me. Specs are for members only, though ...
13:11 frilled you're probably talking about the raw cam moudle, then
13:15 rabeeh yes.
13:18 rabeeh frilled: i'm searching about the D-PHY and M-PHY; but nothing again
13:18 rabeeh it's all about phy level encoding and speeds
13:19 rabeeh i'm looking more into the mechanical connectors
13:19 rabeeh maybe i can rephrase the question - what is the mechanical connector to be used when connecting to a CSI capable camera module?
13:24 frilled d-phy / m-phy are for members only (http://www.mipi.org/specifications/physical-layer -> "Complete specifications are available to MIPI members only. For more information on joining MIPI, please go to Join MIPI.")
13:24 frilled MAybe you can ask someone who has them? ;)
13:25 rabeeh i looked at them now; they are all about phyiscal signalling without saying anything about mechanical connectors.
13:25 frilled pfff ...
13:32 frilled yay, I give up. I don't find it either.
13:35 rabeeh :)
13:35 rabeeh i think i'm going to reverse engineer
13:35 rabeeh look what manufacuter gives and try to find common connectors; i'll start with this one -
