02:06 moz68 hello
07:02 supsup anyone around?
07:19 supsup exit
09:17 matoking Hey, I'm trying to build and install a kernel module for this WiFi dongle I have, but it's complaining about missing kernel headers
09:17 matoking I'm trying to use the --kernelsourcedir option to tell it where the kernel source is located, but it's not helping
09:18 matoking This is the command I'm trying to run dkms build 8192cu/4.0.29 --kernelsourcedir=/home/debian/Source/linux-linaro-stable-mx6
09:20 matoking Of course, I could do away with the WiFi dongle entirely if the "really low upload speed when uploading files to Cubox-i" issue was fixed, but I don't think that's the case :/
09:24 jnettlet matoking, it will be fixed. I am working on a new kernel now. I have just so much time to work on this though.
09:26 matoking Yeah, it's just taking a really long time, which is why I'm trying to use a WiFi dongle instead
09:27 jnettlet yes, well work needs to happen as well
09:27 jnettlet matoking, why don't you build the drivers from the linux-backports project against your tree and see if that helps your wifi performance?
09:36 matoking Well I'm going to try something else instead
09:37 matoking Have the Cubox-i download the files from my desktop PC
09:48 matoking Just set up a VNC for the first time :)
09:54 matoking Well looks like I'm getting even worse results with that trick
09:55 matoking I'm getting better download and upload speeds when I'm accessing the Internet, but when I'm accessing devices in the local network it goes down to as much as 80 KB/s
09:57 matoking So, the obvious solution is that I'll have my connection go through a VPS I have in order to upload files from my desktop PC to my Cubox
10:44 matoking I compiled the kernel based on the linux-linaro-stable-mx6 repository
10:44 matoking Where can I find or how can I create the kernel headers?
11:31 matoking Well I did manage to improve the download/upload speed by using compression
11:32 matoking Works well with uncompressed files such as SQL but otherwise it's not that much of a help
17:00 msalerno Can anyone give any advice for getting past a "lirc_serial lirc_serial.0: Bad irq number or handler" boot error on Arch linux?
20:08 casepie Lotta people lurking. Anybody active?
20:09 malte jep
20:09 casepie has anyone ordered a cubox-i in the last month or so? If so, do you have any idea what the shipping lag is? (i.e. how long)?
20:10 malte between 1-4 months
20:16 bartoli Hello, I have a problem while booting my cubox-i4pro
20:17 bartoli The bootproces gives following output: http://pastebin.com/QRcL7nL7
20:18 bartoli Tried different sdcard, archlinux, debian and geexbox
20:18 bartoli keep getting the same problem
20:19 bartoli Any ideas?
20:20 Coolgeek he loop to try to find something to boot on... if it boot, it's OK then
20:22 wbx bartoli: how you created the scard? can you show fdisk output of your sdcard?
20:24 bartoli The output of the card: http://pastebin.com/CrPCgJ1J
20:25 bartoli I hope that is what you are asking for
20:25 bartoli It doesn't boot, that is the problem
20:26 bartoli I don't get any hdmi output
20:27 bartoli I wanted to install a arch on it
20:27 wbx bartoli: what is the content of the first fat partition?
20:28 wbx bartoli: u-boot does not show up on hdmi? how you installed u-boot onto the sdcard?
20:28 bartoli I have been trying different methods
20:28 wbx bartoli: which version of u-boot are you using?
20:29 bartoli Tried the manual arch installation on the arch website
20:29 wbx bartoli: do you have a link?
20:30 wbx bartoli: and could you show the full boot look of u-boot, you cutted the first entries..
20:31 bartoli the howto I used: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/freescale/cubox-i
20:31 bartoli I also tried the 'script' version on the solidrun website
20:31 bartoli Both give no result
20:33 bartoli The version of U-boot I used is the image contained in the boot folder of ArchLinuxARM-imx6-cubox-latest.tar.gz
20:33 bartoli Like it says in the howto really
20:35 wbx bartoli: show the complete u-boot log
20:36 bartoli Is this it? http://pastebin.com/WXfmMrJW
20:39 wbx huch. Marvell Sheeva?! this is a cubox-i4pro?
20:40 bartoli That what I bought
20:40 bartoli Are you saying I'm using the wrong U-Boot
20:46 wbx that or you got the wrong hardware. marvell is cubox1
20:47 bartoli Great..
20:48 bartoli Your saying they send me an older version of the cubox?
20:50 wbx CPU: Freescale i.MX6Q rev1.2 at 792 MHz
20:51 wbx that is what my cubox-i2ultra says. but your u-boot is too old. maybe it misinterpret the bits and bytes
20:51 wbx bartoli: get a recent SPL and uboot.img
20:53 bartoli wbx: thanks could you just give a link where U can find these?
20:53 wbx can you cross-compile?
20:54 bartoli Never done it...
20:54 wbx hmm.
20:54 bartoli I'm using arch on my laptop
20:55 wbx bartoli: let me see if i can get you a recent u-boot
20:55 jnettlet bartoli, it looks like you have the Cubox Pro, not the Cubox-i Pro
20:55 jnettlet The Cubox Pro is the original cubox with 2GB's of RAM
20:56 wbx bartoli: try http://openadk.org/cubox/ ... and show the results.
20:57 bartoli I think jnettlet is on to something
20:58 jnettlet the "i" stands for iMX6
20:58 jnettlet Pro denotes 2 or more gigabytes of memory
20:58 bartoli On my invoice it does says CuBox Pro
20:58 bartoli Not Cubox-i Pro
20:58 jnettlet did you buy this from a UK reseller?
20:59 bartoli yes I'm from Belgium
20:59 bartoli so I had to go throught NewIT
20:59 jnettlet yep, other people have had the same confusion happen
20:59 wbx bartoli: the good thing about it, you have a nice crypto coprocessor (CESA) ;)
21:00 bartoli Sorry for my ignorence but how do the cubox Pro and cubox-i Pro compare?
22:54 mhoney google is your friend ;)
