14:22 ths Hello, i just want to know, before purchase if this monitor is compatible with cubox i4 : http://www.eizo.be/products/flexscan/ev ... 6WFS3.html
14:32 jnettlet_ ths, the CBi's won't support resolutions greater than 1080p, so you can use the quadhd displays at the top.
14:33 jnettlet_ the 1920x1200 displays should work using a VESA resolution but it is possible that audio won't work properly at that resolution because it is not a CEA standard mode.
14:35 ths jnettlet: can recommand us a monitor fully compatible ?
14:36 ths sorry: can you recommanded us a monitor fully compatible ?
14:37 jnettlet ths, any monitor that supports standard 1920x1080p timings should work fine.
14:37 jnettlet I have an ASUS that has no problems
14:37 jnettlet ths, are there specific qualities you are looking for in a monitor?
14:39 ths jnettlet: no, Full HD and confortable monitor... small as possible... low power.. that's why i' choosed eizo
14:40 ths and works find image and sound, plug and play
14:41 jnettlet ths, well the 23" monitors should work fine. They run at a standarad 1920x1080
14:43 jnettlet ths, actually I take that back. None of those monitors have native HDMI input
14:43 jnettlet they all use DisplayPort or DVI-D
14:57 ths jnettlet: but DVI-D is not compatible with cubox, no ?
14:58 jnettlet ths, it is, but that doesn't carry audio
14:59 ths few months ago, impossible to have image in 1440*900 for example
14:59 ths This is a recent patch ?
15:02 jnettlet I have not tested 1440x900 specifically, but DVI support is working properly with 3.14.14
15:04 ths i only buy a screen because few month ago impossible to use HDMI - >DVI cable with cubox
15:06 jnettlet well you should test with the 3.14.14 kernel
15:06 ths argh ok
15:06 jnettlet but like I said that will not support audio just video
15:07 ths no problem, maybe there is any solution to convert sound optical out into a analogic out ?
15:07 R0nd I think you'd need an audio receiver for that
15:08 jnettlet you can buy optical to analog DACs
15:09 jnettlet something like this. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prosteruk-Digital-Toslink-Converter-Adapter/dp/B00KNNSKV0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411996111&sr=8-1&keywords=spdif+to+analog+dac
15:09 jnettlet although I know nothing about that specific converter
15:09 ths cool
15:09 ths Do you know where can i find the latest jessi image with wifi
15:10 jnettlet we are working on an updated image right now. I believe the raspbian image is the most up to date debian based image right now
15:32 ths jnettlet: i'm trying with https://github.com/igorpecovnik/Cubox-i-Debian
15:33 Humpelstilzchen ths: They added some patches for DVI support, but my Monitor still does not work
15:36 jnettlet Humpelstilzchen, what resolution, and have you posted logs anywhere?
15:41 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: I have opened a bug for that https://github.com/SolidRun/linux-imx6-3.14/issues/6
15:50 jnettlet Humpelstilzchen, what mode does your monitor report as using?
15:52 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: sorry have to look that up when at home, but iirc it doesn't switch the from u-boot
15:53 jnettlet try turning the monitor on and off to get it to resync. That should happen when the monitor is reprobed by linux
15:53 jnettlet fyi, u-boot doesn't actually produce proper video timings
15:55 Humpelstilzchen but u-boot has output ;). Will do that, thx
15:55 jnettlet yes, but that is only 1024x768
15:55 jnettlet you are also setting the default output to 1920x1080. You should change that to be the proper resolution of 1280x1024
15:57 Humpelstilzchen hmm interesting there is indeed 1920x1080 in the logs, winder where that comes from.. Will have to check that
15:58 wrexem I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!
15:58 wrexem You thought you were safe. But I have returned!
16:00 Humpelstilzchen doh! imx6qdl-cubox-i.dtsi: mode_str ="1920x1080M@60";
16:01 jnettlet that is only used if you don't specify a mode on the kernel commandline
16:02 Humpelstilzchen I removed the mode on cmdline
16:02 Humpelstilzchen tried 1280 in there but did not work...
16:09 jnettlet what does fbset -i say?
16:10 Humpelstilzchen will check that later when at home, cubox is currently not plugged in.
16:41 wrexem Has Malte or igor been on today
16:42 Humpelstilzchen wrexem: Malte was yesterday
18:32 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: http://pastebin.com/GeFRZrru
18:38 jnettlet Humpelstilzchen, and does your monitor report a mode and refresh rate?
18:40 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: hmm after turning it off (unplug power, not just button) and on again I have output!
18:40 jnettlet Humpelstilzchen, :) I was actually going to ask you to do that
18:42 jnettlet Humpelstilzchen, can you post the output of dmesg for me to look at. I want to see what the monitor restart triggered in the kernel
18:46 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: http://pastebin.com/X48hTGiW
18:48 Humpelstilzchen any way to get it more verbose?
18:50 jnettlet you can add #define DEBUG to the top of drives/video/mxc/mxc_hdmi.c and add debug to your kernel commandline
18:56 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: seem to enable only one line, do you need that one?
18:57 Humpelstilzchen ah well and the pr_debugs...
18:59 jnettlet depends what it is :)
18:59 jnettlet please try and echo 0 > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank instead of turning the monitor on and off
18:59 jnettlet I am wondering if the screen is just timing out early for whatever reason
19:00 Humpelstilzchen hmpf, for some reasons gcc is doing a complete recompile..this will take some time
19:01 jnettlet no hurry
19:02 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: screen is still dark after echo
19:03 jnettlet okay
19:21 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: http://pastebin.com/mL6vqmjf
19:24 Humpelstilzchen uhm the output from boot is missing
19:25 Humpelstilzchen http://pastebin.com/EPCMuEBm boot
19:36 Humpelstilzchen jnettlet: why is pixclk different?
23:14 iteratee How well would the cubox work as a transcoding media server?
23:14 iteratee specifically the -i4pro
