01:09 Greek-Boy where can i get ubuntu or android image for old cubox?
01:52 rik- I can't get spdif output from a cubox-i4pro
01:52 rik- the spdif light is on. the light comes out of the other side of the cable (I tried two)
01:53 rik- the cables are seated (I trimmed the head so they "click")
01:53 rik- hdmi audio works
01:53 rik- I tried with xbmc and also without xbmc and with just aplay
01:53 rik- e.g., aplay -D default:CARD=imxspdif -v /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Noise.wav
01:54 rik- I tried two different versions of xbian, one the latest
01:55 rik- aplay -l lists the device, and aplay -L lists the PCM in the command above
01:55 rik- any suggestions?
01:56 rik- are there multiple spdif protocols? could my amp not understand this one? I don't have another optical amp that I could easily try with
02:11 rik- also tried some iecset changes. no luck
02:19 rik- so I found this usb audio device with some spdif out
02:19 rik- and it works with aplay
02:19 rik- now to try with xbmc...
02:20 rik- does the cubox spdif work for anyone?
02:21 rik- woot. the usb device works with the xbmc gui
02:21 rik- clickity click
02:45 rik- CEC is a little weird
02:45 rik- and the remote doesn' t work...

14:09 cardiel which xmbc dist is currently the most stable?
14:23 _rd Hi, does the hummingboard has a serial console?
14:26 Exaga yes
14:27 _rd Hmm...is that the same connector as the USB power supply?
14:29 Exaga http://www.solid-run.com/wiki/index.php?title=HummingBoard_Hardware#Serial_UART_port_access
14:30 Exaga like this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171443526996
14:41 jnettlet just make sure it is 3.3V !!! don't get a serial adapter that is only 5V
14:43 _rd Many thanks, I expected an USB connector, since the cubox-i comes with an USB connector. But yes, RPi compatibility makes a lot of sense...
14:51 jnettlet it would be confusing to have 1 usb port for power and 1 for serial output.
14:52 jnettlet mix them up and you can have a very useless board
14:53 Exaga jnettlet: i thought those PL2303HX cables were good for both 5v and 3.3v ?
14:57 jnettlet Exaga, you have to be careful and read
14:57 jnettlet some are 5v only
14:57 Exaga jnettlet: noted. thanks :>
