07:11 suihkulokki> jnettlet[m]: nothing special in my build, just a build since I didn't find anything prebuilt on the mcbin site
07:15 jnettlet[m]> okay I can add a build.
07:23 jnettlet[m]> Ke: This is the fan I like the best so far. https://www.amazon.de/Titan-TTC-CSC31TZ-RB-Chipsatz-K%C3%BChler/dp/B002ZS1HUC/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1511763445&sr=8-10&keywords=northbridge+k%C3%BChler
07:25 jnettlet[m]> But the big problem with the northbridge coolers is that they all need to be controlled by voltage scaling rather than PWM. I have a PWM to voltage controller I have been playing around with but that just adds cost, all though it would allow you to also scale a case fan as well.
07:31 Ke> jnettlet[m]: I haven't seen any pwm-voltage controllers, but I guess they are still off the shelf products even with connectors?
07:34 jnettlet[m]> I found 1 and it is way overkill
07:36 jnettlet[m]> Ke: http://www.phanteks.com/PH-PWHUB.html
07:37 Ke> =D
07:37 Ke> I could always consider water cooling
07:38 jnettlet[m]> or immerse the entire board in mineral oil
07:40 suihkulokki> or maybe like this: https://plus.google.com/photos/photo/114923953348955727688/6491308934275851762?icm=false&iso=true
07:41 Ke> suihkulokki: yeah, I was thinking about a similar solution
07:41 Ke> suihkulokki: I am glad you already overdid it
07:43 Ke> suihkulokki: did you try grub-install --removable
07:43 Ke> suihkulokki: it works also with eMMC
07:43 Ke> suihkulokki: also did you check whether persistent EFI variables are actually persistent
07:44 Ke> if that does not work for you either, we could poke our support here
07:44 jnettlet[m]> I have been looking at the bequiet! line of cases
07:45 jnettlet[m]> their mid-tier has an integrated PWM controller hub
07:46 jnettlet[m]> I just wish they made a compact form factor.
08:01 jnettlet[m]> Ke: suihkulokki what distros are you running on your mcbin's?
08:02 Ke> debian
08:02 Ke> as I got the installer from suihkulokki, I assume it's debian also there
08:05 Ke> jnettlet[m]: installers here https://people.debian.org/~riku/mcbin/
08:06 jnettlet[m]> thanks I will take a look, see how it differs from my setup.
08:22 suihkulokki> jnettlet[m]: yeah, I'm working on getting mcbin supported in debian
10:43 Ke> suihkulokki: isn't that work mostly done now?
